Hewden cranes on the block
Ernst & Young, the administrator for UK based rental company Hewden has commissioned Euro Auctions to sell its remaining assets, including 127 cranes.
The process will be conducted in two phases and is expected to take up to four months to complete.
The first phase will cover the cranes, which will be sold by tender, with bidders able to express an interest by contacting Euro Auctions direct on +44 (0)2882 898262. A full inventory will be posted on the Euro Auctions website as soon as possible.
Phase two will cover the rest of the equipment -including most of the telehandlers – which will be sold at a series of unreserved auctions starting later this month and running through till April.
Some of the equipment – such as the bulk of the aerial lift fleet has already been sold, with A-Plant snapping that up, while equipment at the Warrington and Bangor depots was acquired by Ashbrook Holdings, and the inventory at the Lewes depot snapped up by GAP.

Joint administrator Sam Woodward said: “We are delighted to be working with Euro Auctions on the disposal of the crane and construction machinery assets of Hewden. We look forward to working closely with the Euro Auctions team over the coming months and maximising returns for creditors.”
Euro Auctions operations manager Jonnie Keys added: “We are delighted to have been selected by the joint administrators to work with them and advise on this project. Euro Auctions has extensive experience in conducting off-site disposal sales and through our global network of buyers and consignors we will be marketing to a specialist audience that has special interest in cranes and lifting equipment, which along with the general construction machinery, has global appeal.”
