250t Liebherr for JNK
Indian crane and access rental company JNK Lifters has taken delivery of a 250 tonne Liebherr LTM 1250-5.1 All Terrain Crane.
The five axle crane has a 60 metre main boom and comes with both a 36 metre bi-fold swingaway extension and a 46 metre fixed lattice jib. The crane also features Liebherr’s Variobase outrigger set-up and the new VarioBallast system. It is the first Liebherr in the company's fleet, and will be used for tower crane assembly, maintenance work in the petrochemicals industry, support work for wind turbine erections and underground railway construction projects.
Director Jayantilal Gala said: "The new LTM 1250-5.1 is an extremely versatile crane. It has an enormous lifting capacity and can tackle many of the crane jobs in the petrochemicals and steel fabrication sectors normally reserved for cranes in the 300 tonne class. Innovations such as VarioBase, VarioBallast, ECOmode and very long lattice jibs give us a major advantage over our competitors."
"Liebherr is the global market leader in the crane industry, with an excellent service infrastructure here in India and the cranes are robust and reliable. The Liebherr team is also very helpful. We are very proud of working with a company which has such high core values."

Director Kunal Gala added: "The variable support base is a great benefit when there is not enough space to extend all four outriggers in full. However, it is often possible to fully extend two of the outriggers. This means that we can now complete crane work using the full capacity of the crane if we work in the direction of the extended outriggers. And the operation of the crane is also secured by the crane controller."
Based in Mumbai, JNK Lifters employs 100 and has a fleet of around 25 cranes. Five years ago it extended its rental fleet to include work platforms.
