Three Terex's for Southern

UK rental company Southern Cranes & Access has taken delivery of three Terex All Terrain cranes, two 40 tonne AC 40/2Ls and a 160 tonne Demag AC 160-5.

The two axle AC 40/2L features a 37.4 metre main boom plus an eight metre swingaway extension, and is powered by a Tier 4F low-emission engine. The five axle Demag AC 160-5 has a 68 metre main boom plus a 21 metre bi-fold swingaway extension, and features the IC-1 Plus control system which allows each of the outriggers to be set in any position, with positions monitored and fed into the control system, where a load chart is configured to match.

Director Kelvin Prince said: “The AC 40/2L model has the longest boom length of any two axle crane in this sector of the market. It’s also a proven machine which is popular with hirers across the territory in which we operate. Safety and driver comfort were also major considerations when choosing this machine, and we confidently expect they will be much in demand by our discerning customer base.”
