Link-Belt approves Samson

Link-Belt has announced that it has approved Samson's new K-100 synthetic hoist rope on its range of cranes.

Designed specifically for mobile cranes, the synthetic rope was launched at Conexpo 2014, and is a result of a joint development between Samson and Manitowoc. It is 80 percent lighter than regular wire rope and features torque-neutral technology, eliminating load spin. The K-100 rope is also more environmentally friendly, in that it does not require any lubrication.

Samson marketing strategy manager Michelle Jarvis said: “Samson is excited that Link-Belt has reviewed K-100 and determined that it is fit for use on their equipment. This continues the industry trend toward wire-rope replacement, putting synthetic rope on more crane models, and allows customers that have diverse fleets more opportunity to leverage the benefits of K-100 in their operations. We want to thank Link-Belt for their support of this technology.”
