More Tadano Mantis for Empire
US based Empire Crane Company has ordered two new Tadano Mantis telescopic crawler cranes, including a new 80 tonne GTC-800 and a 70 tonne 15010.
The GTC-800 features a five-section 43 metre main boom, plus a 17.7 metre bi-fold swingaway extension. The crane automatically switches load charts from the level ground charts for slopes of up to 1.5 degrees to charts for working on steeper slopes of up four degrees out of level. The GTC-800 also features the Tadano AML-C rated capacity indicator with Opti-Width system, allowing asymmetric track positioning in confined areas, HelloNet Telematics and a Cummins Tier 4f engine.
The 15010 has a four section 34 metre main boom , plus a 15.2 metre bi-fold swingaway extension. It also has Tadano’s AML-C rated capacity indicator, and Cummins Tier 4f diesel, and is approved for use in New York City. Both models include Tadano Mantis’ hydrostatic slewing system. This controls for smoother control in either a free swing mode, or a non-free slew mode.

Empire founders Luke and Paul Lonergan said: “Having seen an increase in rental utilisation and quoting activity with the Tadano Mantis product, we saw the need to position ourselves to better meet the customer’s requirements in the Northeast. The new GTC-800's market leading boom length in the under 100 ton class, along with the cutting edge features such as Opyi-Width and superior out-of-level charts, make the GTC-800 a definite winner in comparison to our competitors.”
North Syracuse, New York-based Empire Crane Company was established in 2002. It operates a sales, parts and service facility in central New York, with branches in Boston, Massachusetts, metropolitan New York, and New Jersey.
