Another Liebherr for Crowland

UK rental company Crowland Cranes has purchased a 60 tonne Liebherr LTM 1060-3.1 All Terrain crane.

The three axle crane features a five section 48 metre main boom and a 16 metre bi-fold swingaway extension, which provides a maximum tip height of 67 metres and a maximum radius of 48 metres. The crane is also able to travel in the UK with all 12.8 tonnes of counterweight on board.

Crowland has also decided to include a Liebherr engine shutdown system, which includes over speed protection, for operation in petrol, gas or chemical applications. The order follows the delivery of two Liebherrs to Crowland Cranes last year, a 50 tonne LTC 1050-3.1 city-type All Terrain crane and another LTM 1060-3.1.

Managing director Peter Issitt said: "After the proven success and reliability of our first LTM1060-3.1, operating from our Peterborough depot, the second was a simple choice when looking at our fleet replacement program for our Bury St Edmund depot. With this location now operating a full range of cranes from eight tonnes to 220 tonnes the new LTM 1060-3.1 is a welcome addition to the area, providing our Suffolk customers with the ‘best in class’ 60 tonne All Terrain crane."
