New Tadano Mantis for Scott Macon
US based Scott-Macon Equipment has taken delivery of a new 80 tonne Tadano Mantis GTC-800 telescopic boom crawler crane, the unit was the crane on show at the Conexpo launch earlier this month.
The new GTC-800 features a five section 43 metre main boom plus 17.6 metre bi-fold swingaway extension. The crane automatically switches between load charts for the slope it is working on, wiht charts for up to four degrees off level. The Tadano AML-C rated capacity indicator incorporates what it calls Opti-Width, that allows asymmetric track positioning for working in reduced width configurations, and HelloNet Telematics. Power comes from a Cummins Tier 4f diesel.

We have had great experience with our GTC-1200 and are pleased the new design has been carried into the 800 series. We are particularly impressed by the increased boom length as well as the other improvements that Tadano has incorporated over the predecessor to the GTC-800.”
