GTC-800 for American Crane & Rigging
One of the first new 80 tonne Tadano Mantis GTC-800s was delivered this week to American Crane & Rigging for work at American Iron in New York state. The new crane, purchased from New York based Tadano dealer Empire Crane Company, will erect steel on the new Sullivan County Jail.
The GTC-800 features a 42.7 metre five-section main boom, plus a 17.6 metre bi-fold swingaway extension . The crane automatically switches load charts to suit the slope it is working on, from 1.5 to four degrees of level and Opti-Width with asymmetric track potential, HelloNet Telematics and a Cummins Tier 4f engine.

Michael Hoy, who owns both American Crane & Rigging and American Iron said: “Self-assembly is a fraction of the time in comparison to conventional rigs in the class and the hydraulic boom gets this crane built in a smaller foot print unlike conventional crawlers. With adjustable load-charted track spans, pick & carry, out-of-level load charts and no outriggers to crib, these cranes have advantages over RT's as well. This rig fits our erecting steel and our rental market needs perfectly. It is also designed for pile driving. Please call us if you need to rent this versatile crane.”
American Crane & Rigging was established in 2006 and American Iron in 2003, both are based in Schenectady, New York.
