City crane for Bremerhaven waterways

German waterway management company Bremerhaven Waterways & Shipping Office has taken delivery of a 50 tonne Liebherr LTC 1050-3.1 city-type All Terrain crane.

The compact three axle crane features a 36 metre six section main boom plus a 13 metre bi-fold swingaway extension with 1.5 metre integrated assembly jib which offsets to 20 degrees. The company will primarily use the crane for transporting marker buoys between the yard and the workshop for structural steel and painting work in which the marker buoys are refurbished and fitted with new signalling systems.

Bremerhaven Waterways’ Wolfgang Witzleb said: "In addition to the marker buoys, the crane will load containers, boats, equipment and machines. Our crane is actually in use every day. We had several special requests and requirements for the new crane but only a few suppliers were able to meet them."
