160t Demag for France
French crane and access rental company SVMM has taken delivery of a 160 tonne Demag AC 160-5 All Terrain crane.
The five axle crane features a 68 metre main, boom plus a 21 metre bi-fold swingaway extension, while the 2.75 metre wide carrier has an overall length of 14 metres. The crane also features the IC-1 Plus control system, which provides an optimum capacity for the actual outrigger configuration and slew point selected. Based in Valenciennes in north east France, SVMM runs a fleet of cranes with capacities ranging from seven to 250 tonnes, along with aerial work platforms and trailers.

SVMM's new Demag AC 160-5
Managing director Michel Brouillard said: “We chose this new Demag crane to replace the AC 120 that we currently use. The AC 160-5 offers excellent load charts and is very compact for its capacity. In fact, it has the same footprint as the machine it’s replacing.”
Terex sales manager Jean-Christophe Accio added: “SVMM is a very loyal customer with a fleet comprised almost exclusively of Terex and Demag cranes. A year ago, they already received a Demag AC 100-4L. We have trusted each other from the start, and we have been at their side for their ambitious projects.”
