Van de Poel to leave Eurosupply
Daan van de Poel, 54, sales manager, previous owner and founder of Eurosupply Hoogwerksystemen is to leave the company.
His departure at the end of the year, follows the closer integration of Eurosupply with the HWS business in terms of senior management. His current role as sales manager will be taken over by Remon Scheper, 41, who joins the company from Riwal where he worked alongside the three owners of HWS and Eurosupply - Coert Nodelijk, Allard Maij and Dick Schalekamp until they left – Schalekamp in 2012 and the other two in 2015. They acquired HWS in early 2016

Scheper began his career when he became a sales representative for a Seat car dealership in 1997. At the end of 1998 he joined aerial lift sales and rental company Riwal as a rental sales rep, moving to Aichi Sales Europe in 2002, responsible for sales of new and used aerial lifts. He returned to Riwal in 2004 and has been there ever since. In 2011 he was promoted international used equipment sales, a job he has held until now.

van de Poel said: “The sales process of Eurosupply to the new owners has gone faster than expected and the fusion with HWS Verhuur has been successfully completed in a short while as well. Therefore I have decided to step down from my current position as sales account manager and hand over to the next generation.”
“Coert Nodelijk, Allard Maij and Dick Schalekamp have merged both companies in a short period to a successful rental and sales organisation. I am convinced that they will further expand Eurosupply Hoogwerksystemen to a sales organisation with a growing market share and that the company will keep a leading role in the market in quality and services. I look back on a pleasant collaboration with Coert, Allard and Dick and I wish them all the best in the future.“
“I would like to thank all my colleagues and relations of course for their contribution to the success of Eurosupply. I am proud on what we have achieved together. For me it is time to face new challenges and of course, we will keep in touch. Thank you to you all!”
Nodelijk added: “For the past 28 years, Daan van de Poel has led Eurosupply to become a full line supplier to the access industry. Employees are the most valued component in a company and his spirit and creativity have resulted in very motivated people. We are aware of the fact that his specialism is not easy to replace, but we are entirely convinced that with Remon Scheper this challenge is in good hands. We wish him success and we look forward to welcome him in our company. We thank Daan van de Poel that he entrusts his company, employees and customers to us to lift Eurosupply to greater heights. We can look back in gratitude upon a constructive cooperation. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours and for sure, we will keep in touch.”

Vertikal Comment
This is a bit of a surprise... or perhaps not. Daan van de Poel has been at Eurosupply since founding the business in 1990. Unlike most aerial lift distributors in the Netherlands the company did not rent equipment, nor was it owned or affiliated with a rental company.
The company carved out substantial market shares for the principal brands that it represented, mainly Niftylift, and until it ended production a few years ago, Hitachi crawler mounted boom lifts. Products that at the time were almost unknown. The company is now beginning to do the same with Multitel truck mounts and spider lifts. Van de Poel sold the business in order to free up time for his personal interests. While becoming an affiliate of HWS will have inevitably changed its culture.
Eurosupply has a strong name and some very good people, but Eurosupply without van de Poel will not be quite the same, he will be missed.

I first met Daan when I had been at Niftylift for less than six months, so that would put it 25 years ago. Whilst I am not permitted to have a 'favourite customer' I can say that working with Eurosupply and him in particular has been a joy. I wish both him, Caroline and their family all the best in the world. Our joint collaborations on several projects were always interesting, to say the least!
