Kobelco hand over to Q

Kobelco Cranes has handed over the first of five new crawler cranes to UK rental company Q Crane & Plant Hire in a formal ceremony at Intermat this week.

The first unit, a 100 tonne CKE900G-2 - handles its maximum capacity at 3.6 metres, or 90 tonnes at 3.9 metres. It will be supplied with a 57.9 metre main boom and an 18.3 metre fixed fly jib.

The other cranes in the order are a 135 tonne CKE 1350-G2, two 100 tonne CKE 1100-G2 and another CKE900G-2. All five cranes are fitted with Kobelco’s KCross remote operation management system, new Stage IV/Tier 4 Final diesels, a 360-degree multi camera system, and an in cab colour monitor. In the ceremony, Q Crane & Plant Hire owner Anthony Quinn was presented with a commemorative plaque by Kobelco president Kazuhide Naraki. Quinn said: “We bought our first CKE900G-2 in 2016 and our customers have been enthusiastic about its capabilities ever since. The compact dimensions, ease of transport and assembly, backed up by Kobelco’s high quality engineering and service support, mean this is a great fit with our crane rental fleet, giving us a larger capability in the all important 100 tonne lifting sector.”
