Kennards acquires event specialist

Australia’s Kennards Hire has acquired Sydney based, temporary power rental business, Power Distribution Rentals (PDR).

Established 15 years ago, PDR is based in Matraville on the south side of Sydney, NSW, and specialises in supplying the event, film and industrial markets with generators, air conditioners, switchboards, cables and other accessories, complete with installation and expert advice.

PDR has designed, developed and deployed temporary power and electrical solutions for some of the world’s biggest events and film sets including ‘Australia’ with Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman, Groovin’ in the Moo, New Year’s Eve Sydney, VIVID and the Perth Fringe Festival.

PDR offers a wide range or material for big events and film production

Kennards believes that the combination of PDR’s expertise with Kennards Hire’s distribution network and wider range of products will create some significant synergies and opportunities for growth on an Australia wide basis.

Chief executive Angus Kennard said: “PDR has a great reputation in the film and event market.
