Ashtead acquires Hoist-It
A-Plant - the UK division of Ashtead - has acquired hoist and transport platform rental company Hoist-It from its owner directors Gordon Gedling, Geoffrey Beentjes and Barry Mchenry.
Hoist-It was established in 1985 and runs an extensive fleet of mostly Alimak and Alimak Hek hoists and platforms, including passenger and goods hoists and Hek transport platforms. It is based in Wigan North west England. No details of the transaction have been released. Hoist-It had total fixed assets of £3.4 million or £1.66 million net worth.
A-plant chief executive Richard Thomas said: ”The acquisition of Hoist-It strengthens A-Plant’s position as the UK’s leading plant, tool and equipment rental company. This is a really exciting acquisition for us, established in 1985, Hoist-It is a well-known and respected hirer of passenger and goods hoists. To help ensure everything remains very much business as usual, Hoist-It will continue to operate under their own name from their base in Wigan and importantly with the same dedicated people and systems in place, all of whom I am delighted to welcome to be part of A-Plant.”
