Sterling trailers for Lifterz

UK rental company Lifterz has taken delivery of three Sterling ST440 step frame trailers, with two others on order.

The bespoke trailers have been developed specifically for transporting aerial work platforms, and in particular large numbers of small scissor lifts. Features include remote control of the ramps and the winch, 34 pairs of lashing rings along the sides and centre, and LED lighting all around. The remaining two trailers will be delivered in early 2020.

Lifterz operations manager Steven Gerrard said: “Myself and Lifterz have had a long, well established trading relationship with the Sterling Group, they produce excellent quality rigid bodies of which we have 12 and they have put their knowledge and know how into building an exceptional safe and efficient trailer. During the development and build of the trailers, the team at Sterling clearly understood our requirements and needs to produce a trailer that was 'fit for purpose', and not an adapted 'off the shelf' unit. We had valuable input from experienced, professional drivers who use these units every day and this assisted us in the development of the trailers. Established in 2007, Lifterz was acquired by Speedy earlier this year. The company runs a fleet of 1,500 aerial lifts from four locations - Ossett, Haydock, Daventry and Bathgate.
