New MDs for TPA and Groundforce

UK rental group Vp has appointed David Walkden as managing director of its TPA operation while Paul Donovan moves to Groundforce. Both will report to David Williams who has overall responsibility for the two divisions.

Walkden has spent the last two years as director of TPA's roadways division, having joined the company in 2017 as general manager. He also spent 12 years with Eve Trackway, having been appointed as head of sales and marketing in 2004, and then sales and marketing director in 2017. Directly prior to joining TPA he spent four months as contract sales director of Live Trackway, following the merger of Eve with Lion Trackhire, following its acquisition by A-Plant.

Walkden said: “I am excited and proud to have this opportunity to lead the team to build on the success of the past few years. TPA is a very strong business with a genuine focus on providing customers with the highest standard of service. I have every confidence that the team will continue to delight our customers and drive the business forward.”

Donovan was previously managing director of TPA - Vp’s temporary roadway division - having joined the group in 2012 from Stage Systems, where he had been managing director for six years. He began his career in 1993 with climate control company Biddle Air Systems as sales and marketing manager, moving to a similar role as Glass supplier Greenberg Glass in 2001, and then Stage systems in 2006.

Donovan said: “I am delighted to be given the opportunity to bring my experience across to Groundforce, leaving TPA in very capable hands. Groundforce is a dynamic business which prides itself on market leading products and service, the business has a wealth of experience and knowledge and I am looking forward to working with the team.”

Paul Donovan joins from Vp's temporary roadway division TPA

TPA offers a wide range of ground protection mats and temporary roadways, while Groundforce specialises in shoring and piling equipment, pipe stoppers and trenchless technology.
