First new crane – a 220t Tadano

Italian prefabricated concrete installation company Erregi Montaggi Industriali has taken delivery of its first new crane - a 220 tonne Tadano ATF 220G-5 All Terrain crane - from local dealer Tecno Trades.

The five axle ATF 220G-5 has a 68 metre seven section main boom with hydraulic luffing swingaway and an integrated 5.8 metre heavy lift extension. Features include remote controls and a second winch for handling and manipulating heavy, often cumbersome concrete elements. The ATF 220G-5 is the first new crane the company has purchased, it joins a fleet of 10 cranes - all of which have been sourced from used crane dealers.

Errego chief executive, Giuseppe Romele, said: “Including the 220, we now have a fleet of 11 cranes, including various 80, 100, and 200 tonners. The All Terrain model really stands out. All things considered, it has more good qualities than any of the other cranes. Point one - fuel costs. Only the optimised superstructure engine is running while we are on a job, so we are able to save an average of four to five litres of fuel a day. Point two - time saving. Our 220 has a heavy duty main boom and an 18 metre extension, which offers a large working range. This means it’s very rare for us to have to change it or set it up again. Point three - transport. The 220’s flexible counterweights allow optimal versatility.”
