Straightpoint moves into Thailand
Load measurement and monitoring equipment manufacturer Straightpoint has appointed Thunder Oilfield Services (TOS) as its distributor for Thailand.
Based in Sattahip, south of Bangkok, the company will be responsible for selling the full range of Straightpoint load cells throughout the country. The company will also add Striaghtpoint load cells to its rental fleet of lifting and rigging products dedicated to the fabrication, inspection and maintenance of cranes and other lifting equipment in the offshore energy sector.
TOS chief executive Travis Dupre, said: “We place the highest priority on the health and safety of all stakeholders and protection of our partners’ assets and the environment. Supporting our business with technology that provides accurate information about loads at a safe distance by utilising state of the art bluetooth and other wireless technologies is a natural fit. We are confident that the equipment will be integral to continued growth of the business as the offshore sector in Thailand and further afield returns to normality and prosperity, particularly as we enter the second half of the year.”

TOS specialises in the fabrication, training, inspection, maintenance and repair of lifting equipment and components used in the offshore energy industry in Asia Pacific and the Middle East. In addition to its base in Thailand the company has locations in Brunei, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam.
