Second LTM 1450 for BKL
German crane rental company BKL Baukran Logistik has ordered a second 450 tonne Liebherr LTM 1450-8.1 All Terrain crane, after taking delivery of its first unit in 2018.
Scheduled for delivery later this year, the eight axle LTM 1450-8.1 features an 85 metre main boom, up to 84 metres of lattice jib and the company’s Variobase outrigger and VarioBallast counterweight systems. It is also able to travel within 12 tonne axle loads with main boom, outriggers and winch on board.
The company said it decided to order a second LTM 1450-8.1 after successfully carrying out numerous heavy bridge lifts and erected several large tower cranes as well as silo and prefabricated component assembly work over the past two years.

Rainer Speich of BKL said: “You can do anything you like with this crane. Its VarioBase and VarioBallast systems provide a wide range of set up configurations, making the crane incredibly flexible to use as well as having short set up times."
Founded in 1969, family run BKL Baukran Logistik operates a fleet of more than 500 tower cranes, 100 All Terrain and truck cranes as well as and a number of loader and self-erecting cranes from six locations across Germany.
