First new crane for Hans Frey
German crane rental company Hans Frey Mobilkran has taken delivery of a 70 tonne Tadano HK 70 truck crane, the company’s first new crane having previously only operated second hand cranes.
Mounted on a Volvo truck commercial chassis, the HK 70 features a 41 metre five section main boom plus a 15.8 metre two section swing away extension to provide a maximum tip height of 56.8 metres. On arrival the crane went straight out on its first job assembling an eight tonne cellar wall.
Managing director Hans Frey, said: “Often sites of the jobs are quite far from each other and I’m never on site more than one to two days. So for me the only option was a high speed solution from Tadano. It really saves me a lot in operating costs. It has low fuel consumption and on my routes, I can really get moving and thanks to both the spacious cabs, driving and operating the crane are very easy. I don’t need any permits for single routes and if I have to cross any bridges, I meet those requirements with the crane, too. It makes work so much easier.”
