The rental show day two
The ARA has confirmed that this years Rental show is the biggest ever and was unable to accomodate 25 companies that wanted to exhibit. Te association has substantially increased the space to the 2008 show in Las Vegas.
In addition to the new products we covered yesterday MEC showed two new rough terrain scissor lifts, one of which offers a new lower cost alternative to the 40ft market.

The Mec 3772RT
The MEC has taken the 32ft compact rough terrain scissor lift and added an extra scissor stack to create the 3772RT at 37ft platform height it is aimed at 40ft scissor lift work but with a cost of up to $12,000 below that of the full sized 40ft lifts.

The new MEC 4191RT big scissor lift
The company also unveiled its ‘compact big scissor’ range topped out by the 4192RT with 41 ft platform height. This new model at only 4,400kgs offers low ground bearing pressures and over 300mm of ground clearance for good off road performance.

The MEC TH60 with raised cab
MEC has also been working on its telehandler range and now offers the TH60 and TH80 both with European style low boom designs. In order to further improve visibility the company has raised its cab by 50mm.
Custom lift displayed its CE version of the HB1030 along with its new 14 ft model the HB1430. The 1030CE has grown in terms of weight and is now 680kgs.

Bil Jax surprised by not having its latest products on the stand, neither the new 4x4 self propelled lift nor its new 26ft telescopic trailer lift were on display. The company did confirm though that it had bought out its equity funding partner placing all of the companies share capital in the hands of the management team.
The transaction was completed shortly before the ARA.

Loegering showed a 60ft Genie boom fitted with its four track units, converting a regular boom lift into a tracked machine. The company ships the four modules to a buyer which then removes the wheels and replaces them with the four triangular track units. The company is looking to establish the concept in Europe.
