Wolffkran announces joint venture

Crane manufacturer Wolffkran has signed a joint venture with Kanoo Machinery in the United Arab Emirates.
The new venture - called Wolffkran Arabia - will concentrate on the hire and sale of cranes, run by general manager Dietrich Sell.

Started on January 1st, operations are based at a sales office in Abu Dhabi, although there are plans to expand and open more offices in the UAE. Wolffkran Arabia says it aims to add 15 new cranes to its fleet during 2007.

"The contract is important for Wolffkran in the Arabian market," said Dr Peter Schiefer, managing director of Wolfkrann. "We are proud to have teamed up with the Kanoo Group, a partner with a broad and solid base in the Middle East."

Kanoo Machinery - a subsidiary of The Kanoo Group - began operations in the mid 1960s. Today it is one of the leading sales companies for major international construction manufacturers in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman and Yemen.
