Expansion continues at Wolffkran

Wolffkran has opened another crane production facility in Germany - the first in its one hundred and fifty year history. The site is in Lübben, Brandenburg, maintaining its 'Made in Germany' if not 'Made in Heilbronn' status.

Even with its production facility at Heilbronn introducing multiple-shift operations and adding a further 50 staff, it has reached its capacity limit.

"Increasing demand from home and international markets means that it was now essential to expand with new premises," said Dr Peter Schiefer, managing director of Wolffkran. "The number of staff at Lubben has grown significantly over the past few months. Over the coming weeks the number of employees will double again to 80, producing about 1,500 generic tower crane elements per year."

According to Schiefer, Lubbens was the logical choice because of the large number of skilled personnel in the region.
