Two RTGs for Uruguay
Uruguayan port operator Montecon has ordered the first two Liebherr electric rubber tyre gantry cranes in Uruguay for its port of Montevideo.
The new cranes, the largest currently available from Liebherr, can hand 10 containers plus a truck lane wide and stack one over six high. Features include the company’s BTG autosteering, stack and gantry anti-collision, and a truck anti-lift systems.
Liebherr’s area sale manager for the Americas, Ray Cronin, said: “We are pleased to sell our first two ERTGs to Uruguay. Montecon was impressed with the technological solution presented by Liebherr. The inherent value found in the design including Liebherr’s eight rope reeving, simultaneous drive motion and the stiff and lightweight design provided an exceptional foundation on which to build these modern, safe and environmentally friendly machines.”
