70t Tadano for Waldschütz

German crane rental company Waldschütz has taken delivery of a 70 tonne Tadano ATF 70G-4 All Terrain crane.

The four axle ATF 70G-4 has a 44 metre main boom plus a 16 metre bi-fold swingaway extension, providing a maximum tip height of 63 metres and maximum radius of 50 metres. The crane can travel ready to work with axles loads as low as 10 tonnes, but can also carry it full counterweight on board where axle loadings permit it.

Waldschütz manging director, Christian Waldschütz, said: “We decided on a new ATF 70G-4 with a 44 metre boom. The 70 tonne model is a real compact all rounder so it’s just perfect for us. We use it for all kinds of things, from towing and erecting basement walls and roof trusses to assembling industrial plants. Flexibility is so important to us. Our cranes also have to be as robust as possible, because in the worst-case scenario we might not be able to handle a huge number of tasks during each workshop visit.”

Waldschütz's new ATF 70G-4 carrying out its first lift with the installation of an outdoor swimming pool

Established in 1927 as a towing and service workshop, the family-owned business purchased its first mobile crane market in 1980. Today, the company operates a small fleet of Tadano All Terrain and truck cranes alongside its towing business from its location in Irschenberg, a mountainous region of Southern Germany.
