Two HSC Cranes for Roar

Norwegian crane rental company Roar Wilhelmsen has taken delivery of two HSC lattice boomed crawler cranes - a 100 tonne SCX1000A-3 and a 275 tonne SCX2800A-3 - from newly appointed distributor ANK Cranes.

The SCX1000A-3 can be rigged with up to 60 metres of main boom, or a combination of boom and 28 metre jib for a maximum system length of 79 metres. The crane went straight out on its first job, on the Vestfoldbanen railway project in the south of Olso.
The SCX2800A-3 was ordered with a 85 metre main boom plus a 45.7 metre luffing jib and winch. Delivered to the company’s location in Trondheim, Roar’s staff received training from ANK Cranes and Hitachi Construction Machinery Europe before the crane was sent out on a project.

Chief operating officer, Hans Roar Wilhelmsen, said: “This investment is part of our expansion plan for crawler cranes. We have seen growth in the market the last couple of years and are happy to welcome these two Hitachi cranes in our rental fleet.”

Established in 1974, Roar Wilhelmsen offers a fleet of 30 All Terrain and crawler cranes along with loader cranes, aerial work platforms and telehandlers, plus transport and earth moving equipment from locations in Oslo, Trondheim and Elverum.

In 2018, Hitachi Sumitomo Heavy Industries Construction Cranes dropped 'Hitachi' from its corporate name and now goes by Sumitomo Heavy Industries Construction Cranes - or HSC for short.
