Double ladder DW
Spotted by a reader in Carlisle, UK, a man using an extension ladder plus a roof ladder to access a chimney stack on a row of terrace houses.
The man has set the long ladder against the guttering at a height of around five metres. He appears to be clearing the gutter before transferring on to the roof ladder for his final ascent.
In the words of our correspondent: “One operative and two ladders to access the chimney, whilst the second operative was in the van. The first ladder was shaking vigorously whilst lifting the roof ladder with one arm, to me this was stupid and could have cost a call to emergency services. They arrived in a company vehicle, so they are not amateurs.”

It is not the worst case we have ever seen - especially given how tricky it can be to use some alternative forms of access equipment in these narrow streets with cars parked on both sides of the road. That being said it is clearly dangerous and certainly qualifies for our Death Wish series.
