Bridge bashed
A truck mounted platform became jammed under a low bridge in Clermont-Hérault, France on Friday.
The driver of the platform, a France Elévateur TBA unit on a 4x4 Iveco chassis is owned by Enedis which manages and maintains around 95 percent of the French electricity network. It seems the truck was at the head of a small convoy of Enedis vehicles heading to or from a job, when it passed under an old rail bridge with a height limit of 3.3 metres – depending on the model the TBA is between 345amd 3.8 metres high.

The platform caught the bridge and veered off into the wall, part of the boom struck a car coming in the opposite direction and driven by a lady, said to be in her 70s, shattering the side windows and inflicting minor injuries which were treated at the roadside. The platform drive was trapped in his cab and sustained a more serious injuring to his leg which required hospital treatment.
