New Liebherr LR 1800-1.0 for MaxiKraft
German crane rental company MaxiKraft has taken delivery of an 800 tonne Liebherr LR 1800-1.0 lattice crawler crane as part of its
€40 million order with Liebherr.
The LR 1800-1.0 can be rigged with a main boom of up to 180 metres when equipped with derrick boom and suspended ballast, and topped with a 39 metre fixed offset jib for a maximum system length of 219 metres. Maximum boom without the back mast is 114 metres. A 102 metre luffing jib is also available and can be combined with 108 metres of main boom, the 39 metre derrick boom and VarioTray suspended counterweight system.

The LR 1800-1.0 lifted the 196 tonne bridge at radius of 48 metres
The crane’s first job was to install the 195 tonne Golda Meir Steg - a new 78 metre steel pedestrian and cycle bridge over the Berlin-Spandau ship canal to connect the previously divided neighbourhoods of Moabit and Mitte.

The steel bridge was transported 1,600km by barge from Bavaria to Berlin
The crane was equipped with a 66 metre main boom, derrick system and suspended ballast with the V-frame, 70 tonnes of central ballast, 170 tonnes of slewing platform ballast and 380 tonnes of derrick ballast extended to the maximum radius of 23 metres to install the bridge.
