Ainscough buys Crane Services

We now have confirmation that a deal has just been completed between Crane Services/Nationwide Crane Hire owned by David Slack and his family and the Ainscough group. Ainscough is by far and away the largest crane hirer in the UK while Crane Services was 16th in this years Cranes&Access Top 30 largest crane hirers report.

However this overlooks the fact that Crane Services cranes are mostly large units which will give Ainscough an extremely strong hold on the 500 tonne telescopic crane market in the UK.

A release is expected shortly but we understand that David Slack and his wife will remain with the company as a consultant for at least four months and that in the beginning at least Cranes Services, which also trades under the Nationwide crane hire brand will continue to operate under its own name.
