Crane topples
A lattice boomed crane, one of three working on a new road viaduct in Council Bluffs, Iowa tipped over sideways on Monday afternoon while lifting steel formwork.
No one was injured when the crane, one of three lattice units working on the viaduct went over. First indications are that the crane had not been leveled.
A contractor’s representative is quoted as saying “The muddy ground may have been a factor as the crane wasn't level as it turned to its side”.
