Update on Merseyside crane accident
A few further details of yesterday’s fatal crane accident that was widely reported in the UK’s national midday news are now available.
See man dies in crane accident
The crane was an industrial overhead crane which was lifting steel plates used in the production of storage containers.
Something caused the crane to drop the plates crushing a 41 year old man who died at the scene and seriously injuring another. The injured man is reported as stable.
The accident occurred at the Kirkby premises of Stackright, which manufactures vandal proof site storage containers and cabins. The company, is owned by the Metalrax group.
