500t Liebherr for Darcy Pacheco
Brazilian heavy lift contractor Darcy Pacheco Soluções de Peso has taken delivery of a new 500 tonne Liebherr LTM 1500-8.1 and ordered an 800 tonne Liebherr LTM 1750-9.1 which, when delivered, will top its fleet.
Joining a number of LTM 1500-8.1s in its fleet, the new crane has been purchased to meet increased demand from infrastructure projects and wind turbine installation. The crane has both four section 50 metre and seven section 84 metre telescopic booms and can be equipped with a 91 metre luffing jib and Y-Guy super lift system.

The new crane arrives in Brazil
Upon taking delivery the new LTM 1500-8.1 went straight out on its first job helping with the construction of an extension to a paper factory, before moving directly on to wind turbine assembly work.
Maintenance director Eduardo Silva, said: “We are very happy with our LTM 1500-8.1 cranes, as we are receiving increasing demand for this lifting capacity class, we made enquiries about another 500 tonne model. When it came to choosing the machine, in addition to capacity, the delivery time that Liebherr was able to offer was another positive. We rely on Liebherr as its machines have excellent quality. In addition, Liebherr’s after sales service here in Brazil is extraordinarily good.”
