New MD for Crosby Europe
US based hook and rigging gear manufacturer Crosby has appointed Wim Fabricius as managing director for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region. He replaces Jason Colwell who is set to leave the company in May.
Fabricius has been with Crosby since 2015, joining as business development director after almost six years in similar roles with Dutch rigging equipment company Ropeblock. Since then he has held a number of senior positions, including regional director of sales & marketing and business director of the company’s CrosyIP lifting clamp division. For the past 18 months he has been commercial vice president for Europe, Middle East and Africa.
He began is career in 2000 when he joined the Dutch design and engineering firm Mecal as a project engineer for its US operation, moving up through various managerial promotions to become sales & marketing manager in 2007, leaving for a similar role at Ropeblock the following year.

Crosby group chief executive, Robert Desel, said: “Wim is an experienced leader, with a wide range of expertise and knowledge in the lifting and rigging industry.
