Family injured in lift
A father, his 7-year-old son and 7-year-old niece were cutting tree limbs from the bucket of a truck mounted aerial lift in Waxahachie, Texas on Sunday, when they came into contact with overhead power lines.
The work was going on in an alley at the rear of the family’s home when the incident happened. Somehow the father managed to lower the boom to the ground and all three escaped from the lift.
The young girl received burns to her legs and arms but was able to run inside to call for help. When the fire department arrived they found the three well clear of the lift.
All three were airlifted to hospital in Dallas with third-degree burns. The 7 year old boy was reported to be in critical condition, while the father and his niece are stable.
