Doug King joins UpRight

Doug King has re-joined UpRight in the USA as sales logistics manager. King originally joined UpRIght in Selma back in February 1988 much of his career was spent running the Californian company’s international sales administration.

King left the company for brief spells, once after the company entered Chapter 11, rejoining as the company came back on stream but left again as the business slowed down under its previous owners.

Darren Kell, chief executive of UpRight Powered Access, said: “Doug has a wealth of experience in UpRight products and is a true champion of customer service".

“We are extremely pleased to have lured back such a high calibre and well-respected member of the Big Blue team.”

Based in Fresno, California, king will be responsible for all aspects of Customer Service, from client interface and order processing; to shipping. He will also install new monitoring systems to benchmark performance. He will report to Rob Hime, senior VP of North American sales.

"I would not have come back to a losing team," said King. "There is a strong team here now and management with vision, who are really moving the company in the right direction again".

"My focus will be providing the best customer service, so that our client base can totally believe in our ability to deliver. The "Big Blue is Back!" campaign has showed the world that UpRight is back on track. Now the hard work starts to make sure we live up to those promises".

"I will be taking some good ideas from the old UpRight and implementing some exciting new projects, mixing the best of the past with the best of the future."
