Sinoboom electric booms for Malaysia
Sinoboom has launched its 46/51ft battery powered articulated boom lifts in Malaysia in partnership with its new distributor Schmetterling Rental.
The Kuala Lumpur based sales and rental company marked the arrival of the 46ft AB14EJ and 51ft AB16EJ boom lifts for its rental fleet by hosting its first new product launch event since being appointed the exclusive dealer for Sinoboom in September and was attended by a number of rental companies from across the country.
The two boom lifts share most of the same components, including the same dual sigma type risers, two section telescopic boom and articulating jibs. However, the AB16 has longer boom sections and a wider chassis. Slew is 355 degrees, platform rotation 160 degrees and the battery pack is made up of eight six volt 420Ah lead acid batteries.
The AB14EJ offers a working height of 16 metres, an outreach of 7.6 metres with an up & over height of 7.8 metres and an unrestricted platform capacity of 230kg. It has an overall width of 1.73 metres and weights 7,100kg. The AB16EJ offers an 18 metre working height, an outreach of 9.3 metres at the same 7.8 metre up & over height and a 230kg platform capacity. It is is slightly wider at 1.9 metres however and weighs 7,300kg.

Founded in 2015, Schmetterling Rental focuses on the sale and rental of aerial work platforms, telehandlers and loader cranes. The group operates from three locations, including in Kuala Lumpur and Johor, to the south of the Malyasia, as well as in Singapore and offers support across both the countries.
