Tree takes crane over
A three axle All Terrain crane overturned while removing a tree from a back yard in Leominster, Massachusetts, yesterday.
The incident occurred when one of the outriggers punched through the drive into a void from an old well. The crane, a 60 tonne Grove GMK 3060, was working with its boom fully extended and came down in slow motion to start with. Fortunately the boom struck a tree, which deflected it from doing more damage. The operator was also able to jump clear of the cab and was unhurt.
