First Manitou ‘E’ booms for Hird
UK sales and rental company Hird has taken the first seven units of the new 59ft Manitou 200 ATJ E battery electric articulated Rough Terrain boom lifts to be delivered in the UK.
Part of the manufacturer’s Oxygen range unveiled at Bauma 2019, the machine is the company's first fully electric Rough Terrain platform. It offers a 20 metre working height, with up to 11.57 metres of outreach at and up & over height of almost eight metres with an unrestricted capacity of 230kg. The units were specified with non-marking Rough Terrain tyres and come with four wheel drive and steer.
The new lift features a dual sigma type riser, two section telescopic boom and jib with 125 degrees of articulation. Power comes from a 48 volt battery pack, which is said to be sufficient for full day’s work, even in arduous conditions. Drive is via a large inboard electric motor driving the axles through a transfer box and standard RT axles. The machines were supplied through Manitou dealer Hessle Fork Trucks.
