Advance Scaffold acquired
Australian scaffold manufacturer Oldfields has agreed to purchase the business assets of “Advance Scaffold” the manufacturer and renter of aluminum and fiberglass mobile scaffold towers, from Advcorp Pty Ltd. The deal is subject to due diligence and final board approval.
The divisions of Advcorp included in the purchase include:
Advance Scaffolding
Alscaf
Ladderquip
Foshun Advcorp Scaffold Ltd the companies Chinese manufacturing operation.
Maurie Abbott and Braden Murrin, the principals of Advance scaffolds will join Oilfields and continue to run the Advance business on an ongoing basis and will join the Oldfields management team.

Abbott has over 32 years experience in the access business and has been responsible for the rapid growth of Advancef while Murrin has helped in managing and marketing the business.
John Westwood, chairman of Oldfields said: “An exciting aspect of the purchase for world export markets includes a manufacturing facility in Foshun, which is one of the the lowest cost producers of scaffold in the world".

Oldfields was founded in 1916 as a paint brush manufacturer, floated in the 1960’s and entered the access market in 1985, the company manufacturers and rents both façade and alloy tower scaffolds. Other businesses include gardens sheds and paint application devices from brushes to sprayers.
The company has been expanding its access division in the past two years including two earlier acquisitions; Western Australian based scaffold rental company, Aluminium Scaffold Services in September 2006 and Direct Scaffolds of Newcastle in November 2005.
