Raimondis for the Seef

Dubai based contractor Urban Trading and Contracting has taken delivery of four Raimondi MRT159 flat top tower cranes.

The MRT159 has a maximum capacity of 10 tonnes and a maximum jib length of 65 metres, with a jib tip capacity of 1,650kg. The new cranes will join a further five second hand Raimondi cranes purchased last year and installed on the site of the Seef residential development, situated at the Lusail City waterfront.

The four new MRT159 join a further five Raimondi cranes working on the Seef

Once on site, the four MRT159s will be fitted with jib lengths of 38 to 60 metres and with tower heights of 74 to 125 metres. The second hand cranes purchased include a 16 tonne MRT294, a 12 tonne MRT223, a 10 tonne MRT189 and two MRT144s. They will be installed with jib lengths of up to 70 metres and under hook heights up to 133 metres. All nine cranes were set up with the help of Raimondi’s technical and operational team.

The Seef in Lusail City is scheduled for completion at the end of the year

Wael Hasan, commercial director at Raimondi Middle East, said: “A significant point we took into account was the fast-tracked nature of the project as the contractor was looking to install the cranes in a short timeframe to accelerate operations. The MRT159, MRT189, and MRT223 were chosen for the models’ characteristics of arriving onsite with all parts preassembled, and embedded elements to facilitate the erection stage. Raimondi Cranes is supporting the jobsite with ongoing service and monthly maintenance to ensure smooth operations and successful project completion.”

The nine cranes will be dismantled in the coming months with the project scheduled for completion by the end of the year.
