Bauma looking good
The outside area at Bauma is a hive of activity as manufacturers of Cranes, Aerial lifts and telehandlers …plus one or two earthmoving companies… puts the final touches to their stands.
It looks as though this will be a great show with some interesting new ideas and plenty of dramatic things to look at.
Here are just one or two pictures from the build up to give you a taste of the show.
Merlo as we predicted has something to surprise on a stand heavily orientated towards work platforms.

In addition to the company’s platforms fitted to its telescopic handlers, it is showing a new concept dubbed the Platform. The two new models are dedicated aerial work platforms but use a 360 degree telescopic handler chassis, with fixed or telescopic heavy duty riser and three section boom plus jib.

No details have yet been given out, but it looks as though the idea is offer a heavy duty boom lift with telehandler travel speed. More when the show opens.

The Grove GTK1100 was bound to be a star exhibit, and it certainly is, however there are so many big and exotic machines to see it does not stand out quite as dramatically as you might have expected.

While not comparing to the above in terms of innovation, UpRight has held true to its statement to reintroduce larger booms this year with an AB46RT on its stand which is F9 and not F9N as we reported in Cranes&Access.

Kobelco’s substantial SL6000 arrived in Munich in Weldex colours, The company has also announced its new 110 tonne CKE1100 with retractable undercarriage.
