Tony Stokes moves to Clements
Tony Stokes, has left UK Platforms, the Haulotte owned access rental company and joined Clements Plant & Tool Hire, based in Coventry as business development manager with the aim of becoming a director of the company later in the year.

Clements was the subject of a Management Buy-Out in January when John Jennings and Jim Longstaff acquired the business from Deely construction.

Stokes, 50, has over 25 years experience in the UK equipment rental market, mostly in powered access. Prior to moving to UK Platforms he was one of two regional directors at Nationwide Access, the UK’s largest powered access rental company.
Announcing the appointment, managing director Jim Longstaff said “Tony has an excellent pedigree and comes with vast experience. He will be responsible for all aspects of the sales & marketing function and will help the board in building our business and reputation in Coventry and the surrounding areas. To get someone of Tony’s calibre is something of a coup and we are delighted that he has joined the team”.
Stokes added “I have known Jim for almost 20 years and like what he is trying to achieve at Clements. We have a good reputation and a nice fleet mix and I relish the chance to build on this reputation and increase our potential”.
In the three months since the MBO the company has been adding new equipment, including Genie Z45’s, Niftylift 90 Trailer-mounts excavators, rollers, dumpers.
