First LTM 1120-4.1 in Brazil

Brazilian crane company Guindastes Tatuapé has taken delivery of the first 120 tonne Liebherr LTM 1120-4.1 to arrive in the country. The company has ordered two units with the second due to arrive in the summer.

The four axle crane, unveiled at Conexpo 2020, has a 66 metre seven section main boom topped by a 10.8 to 19 metre bi-fold swingaway extension which offsets by up to 40 degrees. A seven metre insert extends the maximum tip height to more than 94 metres and offers a maximum radius of 64 metres. Features include the company’s VarioBallast and VarioBase systems all of which take it into the bottom end of the five axle All Terrain market.

Brazil’s first LTM 1120-4.1 is handed over

The maximum tip height was a key factor in the purchasing decision for Guindastes Tatuapé.
Commercial director Denys Garzon Rodrigues said: “The LTM 1120-4.1 is the new benchmark in the four axle class. It has the longest boom and delivers extremely high lifting capacities which increase its flexibility for jobs and improve transport costs as the crane can be used to complete jobs which would otherwise require a five axle crane, for which a great deal more logistical work is required.”
“As all four axles can be steered, it is ideal for use on very restricted sites. The VarioBase variable supporting base and VarioBallast adjustable ballast radius are features that make jobs in extreme conditions safer and more flexible.”
