Stirnimann Denmark opens

Swiss crane and aerial lift sales and rental company Stirnimann has formally opened its new Danish operation in Ølstykke, to the north west of Copenhagen. The new facility has an office building, parts warehouse and workshops on 4,000 square metre/one acre plot.
The company has ordered a package of 17 Potain cranes for its new rental fleet including the first Igo T 99 self-erecting crane to arrive in the Nordic region.

Stirnimann Denmark was appointed as the Potain distributor in September last year see: Stirnimann moves into Denmark, with effect from the start of the year. In November it appointed John Cristian Asmussen as chief executive. It also hired tower crane and Potain veteran Jørgen Saabye as crane consultant and Kenneth Nielsen as tower crane service technician.

Asmussen said: “The new territories offer good opportunities for our business. Potain is a strong brand in these areas, and we can leverage our long experience from Switzerland and from building up a new market in Austria.”
