Dingli’s new micro scissor
Chinese manufacturer Dingli has launched a new 15ft micro slab electric scissor lift, the JCPT0707DCM.
The new machine offers a working height of 6.5 metres, a maximum platform capacity of 230kg and a 740mm wide platform which extends from 1.44 metres to just over two metres with the 600mm roll out deck extension, which has a capacity of 130kg.

The new machine has an overall width of 760mm, an overall length of 1.43 metres and a stowed height of 2.05 metres, which is reduced to 1.68 metres with the guardrails folded. Overall weight is 1,150kg.
Drive is all electric with two 24 volt DC wheel motors powered by two 12 volt 115Ah batteries. The new lift has four wheel braking, standard non marking tyres and automatic active pothole protection.
The new platform joins the 12ft JCPT0607DCM and the 19ft JCPT0708DCM which have similar specifications but weigh 920kg and 1,300kg respectively.

So how does the new model stack up?
The sector for this height of a machine was once quiet, being a lower derivative of 20ft 'skinny mini' models and then a smaller version of 19ft 'elevator' units. Most buyers chose to go with the higher models in the range.
However, the market for more compact lifts has become substantial, initially with 12 to 16ft mast type lifts but more recently with micro scissors with overall lengths of under 1.5 metres and an overall weight of less than 1,000kg, with models from Genie, Skyjack, JLG and Zoomlion. The new Dingli product compares well with its peers in terms of overall dimensions, platform capacity, standard specification and platform size - with just 10mm distance from the platform guardrails to the edge of the machine. Where it does not compare as well is its weight at 1,150kg while the super compacts are mostly in the region of 900kg. If weight is not super critical then it stacks up very well.
