Mitchell joins Ainscough board
Grant Mitchell, formerly a director of Baldwins Industrial Services, is to join the board of Ainscough Crane Hire. He brings with him a wealth of experience and contacts from his many years at the helm of Baldwins' heavy lift division.
"We are delighted to have appointed Grant Mitchell to our main board with full responsibility for the southern crane hire region and nationally for the enlarged combined Heavy Crane Division" said Martin Ainscough, chairman of Ainscough Crane Hire.
He added: "I am sure Grant and his senior management team in the south will be a great asset to our company, with many years experience and knowledge of our industry".
Mitchell will report directly to Ainscough managing director Ray Ledger, who joined the company from Hewden Stuart some two years ago.
Depot network announced
Ainscough plans to retain three of the former Baldwin depots in Hayes, Erith and Acton. The remaining depots will be merged into the existing Ainscough depot network. The Scottish, north and midland area depots, which includes Bristol and Cardiff, will be the responsibility of operations director, Richard Wharrie and sales director George Kesterton. They, along with all the other directors will continue to report to managing director Ray Ledger.
Referring to the purchase of the Baldwins crane fleet and depot network, Martin Ainscough, chairman commented: "This is a massive acquisition for Ainscough's and the weeks and months ahead will throw up many challenges as we attempt to combine the best aspects of both companies and integrate them into one successful business. May I take this opportunity to ask both customers and employees to bear with us in this difficult task. Finally on behalf of myself, Brendan, James and all the directors I would like to wish everybody including, employees, customers old and new, a very Happy Christmas and a very busy and prosperous new year."
