Skyjack launches at Vertikal Days
Skyjack has announced the launch of its new XStep step up platform for a little extra height and its latest secondary guarding system the SGLE (Secondary Guarding Lift Enable) at Vertikal Days next week.
Attachments like the X Step have been available in North America for some time, but not widely see in Europe, and not CE certified. They aim to provide a safe alternative to operators standing on guardrails to gain a little more height, or reach through false ceiling panels.

Skyjack’s new CE certified X Step
Skyjack’s XStep comprises a swing down base with full height guardrails that is securely mounted on the mid rails of the scissor lift. The operator gains and extra 480mm of reach with a fully guardrailed platform with self-locking swing gate.
Skyjack says one person can install the XStep in five minutes without the need for special tools. It can be retrofitted to exiting Skyjack DC scissor lifts and easily be moved from one scissor lift to another.

Skyjack will also show the latest version of its Secondary Guarding Lift Enable (SGLE) system for scissor lifts comprising a heavy-duty shroud on the control box, to protect the controller from inadvertent operation, along with two handed operation that obliges the operator to remain in an upright position and away from the guardrails, thus mitigating the risk of entrapment. The system is tamper resistant, simple to use and unobtrusive.
