Booms at explosive facilities
AJ ACCESS PLATFORMS in partnership with Sexton Construction has recently supplied powered access equipment to the new £1 billion MOD Garrison facility at Colchester.
The contractor decided to purchase the equipment which is to be used initially in the explosives storage areas and also in the vehicle garage facilities for construction and later on for mechanical and electrical works.

Two machines - a ‘pre-owned’ Nifty Heightrider 12 narrow width bi-energy self propelled booms and Genie GS1930 narrow width electric scissor lifts were supplied.
Neil Wilkinson, Sales Manager at AJ Access explains “After receiving the initial enquiry from Sexton and providing accurate and timely information on all commercial and technical aspects to meet their access requirements, it was finally decided that one of our ‘pre-owned’ Nifty Heightrider 12 narrow width bi-energy self propelled booms and Genie GS1930 narrow width electric scissor lift’s were to be supplied, fully serviced, tested and inspected with new LOLER certificates and repainted, as new, in their very own corporate colour’s."
