Sinoboom electric RTs for Balloo
Northern Ireland rental company Balloo Hire - part of the Briggs group - has taken delivery of the first units of an order for Sinoboom’s new all electric Rough Terrain scissors and articulated boom lifts.
Balloo has taken the some of the first 40ft electric 4069RE compact Rough Terrain and 53ft 5389RE full size electric Rough Terrains to arrive in Europe. The new scissors offer working heights of 14 and 18.2 metres respectively and feature four wheel drive, active axle oscillation and auto levelling jacks. The 4069 has single extension and 365kg platform capacity, with the 5389s are equipped with dual deck extensions for a 6.68 metre extended deck and 680kg platform capacity. The order also includes the new 60ft AB600EJ/AB18EJ electric Rough Terrain articulated boom lifts, which offers a 20 metre working height with 230kg unrestricted platform capacity. All of the models in the order are equipped with non-marking foam filled RT tyres and high capacity battery packs.

Julie Houston Smyth hands the first three units to Colin Magee
Sinoboom’s UK & Ireland Regional Manager, Julie Houston Smyth, formally handed over the boom lift at the recent Vertikal Days event to Balloo’s powered access manager Colin Magee, divisional director Mark Grundy and fleet manager Paul McClelland.
Magee said: “Balloo aims to be at the forefront for zero emission access equipment in Ireland, and these models will be a great addition to our fleet, sure to appeal to our customers in the construction, film and TV sectors.”
Julie Houston Smyth added: “Balloo’s ongoing investment in Sinoboom equipment is a real demonstration of their trust in both the Sinoboom team and the products, and we look forward to continuing this business partnership into the future.”

Balloo Hire, was established in 1987 and
acquired by Briggs Equipment UK in 2019 with
Highway Plant added a month or two later. More recently Briggs has added
Laois Hire Services last February and
Aerial Platform Hire earlier this year.
